Dira Lehaskir: Title Sequence

Overview

The Brief

An opening title sequence for a book, translating its narrative world into a contemporary visual motion language. I choose the book “Dira Lehaskir” by Leah Goldberg.

The Concept

Where each apartment reveals a different character,

The animation unfolds like an elevator journey: moving between floors, focusing on individual tenants, and using color, framing, and motion to guide the viewer through the story’s rhythm, just like a mystery series.

Storytelling through Motion

The Elevator Entrance

The video starts with an elevator that serves as a visual portal into the building's domestic tension. This slow, rhythmic opening sets a suspenseful tone, inviting the viewer to enter a world where every floor holds a hidden story.

Vintage Aviation Manuals

The Mystery Building

Using a high-contrast, geometric style and placing the characters within dimly lit windows, I transformed the friendly apartment block into a complex stage for an unsolved mystery.

Swatches

To evoke the suspenseful atmosphere of a classic mystery, I used a high-contrast palette of deep nocturnal blues and piercing reds and yellows. These colors act as narrative cues, illuminating key characters within the building's shadows while maintaining a sense of late-night tension.
